Which Ford Bronco Trims Have a Third Row?
None of them. No Ford Bronco trim, package or body style has ever offered a third row. The 2-door seats four and the 4-door seats five, from the Base to the Raptor. If you need seven seats, the Explorer is the Ford to look at.
Seating by Trim
Every 2026 Ford Bronco trim, and what it seats
Seating on the Bronco is set by body style, not by trim. Moving up the range buys you drivetrain, suspension, tires and materials. It never buys you another seat, which is worth knowing before you stretch a budget expecting more room.
2026 Ford Bronco
| Trim | Body Style | Seats | Third Row |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | 2-door or 4-door | 4 or 5 | No |
| Big Bend | 2-door or 4-door | 4 or 5 | No |
| Outer Banks | 2-door or 4-door | 4 or 5 | No |
| Badlands | 2-door or 4-door | 4 or 5 | No |
| Heritage Edition | 4-door | 5 | No |
| Stroppe Edition | 4-door | 5 | No |
| Raptor | 4-door | 5 | No |
The 2-door seats four because it uses a two-place rear bench. The 4-door seats five with a three-across bench. There is no captain's chair option, no jump seat and no third-row package on any Bronco.
Why Not
The things that make it a Bronco are the things that rule out a third row
A third row needs a long wheelbase and a low, flat floor to fold into. The Bronco has neither, on purpose. It is body-on-frame, it sits high on a suspension tuned for wheel travel, and its rear floor is up above the frame rails and the rear axle.
Then there is the roof. Every Bronco has removable roof panels and removable doors, which means the structure behind the rear seats is doing work a normal SUV roof does. Building a third row into that would mean giving up the open-air design, and that is the reason most people are looking at a Bronco in the first place.
Ford already sells three-row SUVs. It builds the Bronco to do the thing those cannot.
The Upside
No third row means more room for everything else
In most midsize SUVs the third row eats the cargo area. A 2026 Explorer leaves 18.2 cu ft behind its back row, which is a grocery run and not much else. The Bronco has nothing back there but space.
A 4-door Bronco holds between 33.3 and 38.3 cu ft behind the rear seats depending on the roof, and opens to 83.0 cu ft with a soft top and the seats down. A 2-door holds 20.6 cu ft behind the bench and 52.0 cu ft folded. For four people and a weekend at Land Between the Lakes, that is the better shape of vehicle.
- 4-door Bronco, soft top: 38.3 cu ft behind the rear seats, 83.0 cu ft maximum
- 4-door Bronco, hardtop: 33.3 to 35.6 cu ft behind the rear seats, up to 77.6 cu ft maximum
- 2-door Bronco: 20.6 cu ft behind the bench, 52.0 cu ft maximum

If You Need Seven Seats
The two Fords to drive instead
Plenty of people arrive wanting a Bronco and leave in an Explorer, because the third row turned out to be the requirement and the Bronco look was the preference. Both of these are on the same lot on Trenton Rd, so you can sit your family in each on one visit.
Ford Explorer
Three rows on every trim, with a six-passenger layout available if you swap the second-row bench for captain's chairs. 18.2 cu ft behind the third row, 87.8 cu ft with both rows down.
Ford Expedition
Full-size, seven or eight seats depending on trim, and a MAX body if you need cargo room behind the third row. 21.6 cu ft behind row three on the standard wheelbase, 36.1 on the MAX.
Ford Bronco Sport
If it was the Bronco look you wanted and five seats are enough, the smaller Bronco Sport is a two-row crossover with 4x4 standard and 27 mpg combined. It has no third row either.
What a real third row looks like
If the third row is the requirement, this is what you are shopping for instead. Bring the car seats and try both.
Seating and cargo figures are Ford published specifications for the 2026 model year. Confirm the configuration of any specific vehicle before you buy, and check EPA figures for any model at fueleconomy.gov.

Ford Bronco seating questions
Which Ford Bronco trims have a third row?
None of them. No 2026 Ford Bronco trim, package or body style offers a third row. The 2-door seats four and the 4-door seats five, from the Base all the way up to the Raptor. If a listing anywhere claims a third-row Bronco, it is wrong.
How many people does a Ford Bronco seat?
Four in the 2-door and five in the 4-door. The 4-door gets a three-across rear bench, so it carries a family of five. Seating is identical on every trim, which means paying for a higher trim never buys you another seat.
Why doesn't the Bronco offer a third row?
Because of how it is built. The Bronco is a body-on-frame off-roader with a short wheelbase, a live rear axle setup tuned for articulation, and a removable roof. A third row needs a longer wheelbase and a lower floor, and adding one would cost the Bronco the exact things people buy it for.
Which Ford SUV has three rows instead?
Two of them. The Ford Explorer is a three-row SUV with seven-passenger seating standard on every trim. The Ford Expedition seats seven or eight depending on trim and offers a longer MAX body if you need cargo space behind the third row. Both are on our lot on Trenton Rd.
Does the Bronco Sport have a third row?
No. The Bronco Sport is a five-passenger compact crossover across all four of its trims. It is a different vehicle from the full-size Bronco, but on seating the answer is the same: two rows, five seats.
Can three car seats fit across the Bronco's back row?
In a 4-door, sometimes, and it depends entirely on which seats you own. Narrow convertible seats often go three across; a wide infant base plus two boosters usually does not. Bring your actual car seats to Trenton Rd and try them in the vehicle before you buy, because no spec sheet answers this one.
How much cargo space is behind the Bronco's rear seats?
20.6 cu ft in the 2-door and between 33.3 and 38.3 cu ft in the 4-door depending on the roof. Fold the rear seats and a 4-door with a soft top opens to 83.0 cu ft. Because there is no third row eating into the back, the Bronco carries more gear than its size suggests.
