Ford’s New Adapter Unlocks Tesla's Supercharger Network

The electric vehicle (EV) landscape is rapidly evolving, and charging infrastructure is key concern for potential buyers. Great news for Clarksville residents: Jenkins & Wynne is proud to announce that Ford has made yet another significant stride to ease these concerns. Not only does Ford offer the robust BlueOval™ Charge Network (BOCN), but they've taken a bold step forward with the introduction of a Tesla Supercharger adapter, allowing Ford EVs to access Tesla’s vast charging network!  This makes Ford the first of any non-Tesla automaker to gain access to Tesla’s Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada.  And this more than doubles Ford EV owners’ access to reliable DC fast charging.

Ford offers New Adapters Free of Charge to Eligible Ford EV Customers!

Making great news even better, In January Ford President and CEO Jim Farley announced that eligible Ford EV customers will soon be able to reserve a complimentary Fast Charging Adapter if ordered by June 30, 2024..

As Farley announced on the social media platform X, “Eligible #Mustang MachE & #F150 Lightning owners in the U.S. + Canada can reserve a complimentary adapter starting soon.“  Farley added, “This is our way of saying thank you! We want to make charging more convenient for our Ford EV owners, so we're excited to add Tesla chargers and will continue growing our BlueOval Charge Network.”

Tesla Supercharger Network: Ford taps into a game changer

Tesla's Supercharger Network is renowned for its extensive coverage and high-speed charging capabilities.  MotorTrend® highlights this in a recent article,"Tesla's Supercharger Network is considered the gold standard for DC fast charging."  Previously, only Tesla vehicles could use this network. Ford's new adapter shatters this barrier, granting Ford EV drivers access to a significantly expanded charging infrastructure.

Ford's Commitment to Charging Solutions

Beyond the Tesla Supercharger adapter, Ford is heavily invested in building a robust charging network for Ford customers. Ford already boasts the BlueOval Charge Network (BOCN), which is the largest public charging network in North America.  BOCN offers a variety of charging options through partnerships with multiple providers, including Shell Recharge Solutions, Electrify America, EVgo, and more. This expansive network ensures that Ford EV drivers have convenient charging access across the US and Canada.
